Our Story

My name is Jon Talley, and I’m the owner of Talley Stain & Seal.

Originally from Louisiana, I attended East Texas Baptist University, where I earned my undergraduate degree while playing collegiate baseball. I later continued both my academic and athletic career at the University of Dallas, where I earned my MBA.

While in school, I began working for a brokerage and became a real estate agent. Through that experience, I discovered a passion for home renovations, outdoor projects, and helping homeowners improve and take pride in their spaces. Since 2019, I’ve gained hands-on experience working on home renovation and improvement projects for others while also building my professional career.

For three years, I worked in medical device sales while continuing staining and sealing projects as a hobby on the side. What started as a passion project quickly became something I truly loved doing.

In October 2026, my wife and I moved to Abilene and purchased our first home together. Becoming a homeowner myself gave me a completely new perspective and appreciation for the value, excitement, and responsibility that come with owning a home. Through prayer, hard work, and pursuing what I genuinely enjoy, that hobby has now become my full-time business.

At Talley Stain and Seal, my goal is simple: to help homeowners make their homes feel rewarding, exciting, and enjoyable. Whether it’s restoring a fence, staining a deck, or protecting outdoor spaces for years to come, I take pride in helping people invest in and enjoy their homes.
